Normal dental anatomy shows the upper teeth sitting on the outside of the lower arch. In Jackie’s case, her severe underbite, called a Class III dental jaw relationship, showed her upper teeth sitting in the back of her lower teeth when biting together (image obtained from orthodontist). Orthopedic jaw surgery and orthodontics were performed to accomplish skeletal harmony. Jackie was then referred to NICD for esthetic porcelain restorations to complete this dramatic transformation.
