Four CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing) all-porcelain restorations were used to enhance Troy’s upper front incisors. This case was the first of its kind to utilize biogeneric copying with digital scanning in the early 2000s, as pioneered by lab ceramist, Lee Culp, CDT. This technology allowed us to create perfectly shaped, functional temporaries for Troy and later mimic those exact features for his permanent restorations. Biogeneric copying is now standard in all oral scanning systems and NICD is proud to have contributed to this technological revolution in dentistry.
